Code: SCH LNS05/1 Supporting pupils with Dyslexia and Literacy difficulties

Aimed at teachers, support staff or anyone working with pupils with Literacy difficulties, this course will introduce you to a broad range of strategies, hands-on resources and digital resources that you can use to help pupils catch up with their literacy skills. In the final session, you will also learn the signs of dyslexia and how to support pupils with this kind of difficulty.

The sessions will focus on:

  • Reading and phonics
  • Reading comprehension
  • Writing and handwriting
  • Spelling
  • Dyslexia
Participants should attend all sessions and will be asked to complete gap tasks to implement some of the strategies between sessions.
