Event/course summary This residential conference is part of the joint Wandsworth/WTSA CPD programme for School Business Managers (SBMs). The theme for the conference is “how to thrive in the school business leadership role”. Too often we aim to survive rather than thrive in our work. The programme is designed to help you take a step back; question; challenge; and share practice - all of which will help you tackle your role with renewed insight and vigour. With our expert facilitators and speakers, the sessions will be thought-provoking; interactive and practical.

Key themes will include:
- the School Business Manager role in the changing school landscape
- building thriving teams through trust and transparency

Aims To provide participants with opportunities to
- reflect on their complex and diverse roles
- consider how they can develop their practice and that of their teams
- increase their understanding of effective practice and the key behaviours that will help them in the school business management role
- provide practical tools & strategies to use back in school
- share good practice & network
Learning outcomes - skills and knowledge - increased confidence and understanding of the school business management and leadership roles
- increased understanding of key behaviours required to be effective in the school business leadership profession
- increased capacity to overcome challenges and create new and effective solutions

Additional event/course information The residential conference fee includes lunch on Thursday, dinner, bed and breakfast on Thursday night and lunch on Friday.
Day delegate rates are available:
Wandsworth maintained schools: Thurs & Fri - £240; Thurs only £100; Fri only £155.
Wandsworth non-maintained & out-borough schools: Thurs & Fri - £270; Thurs only £115; Fri only £190.

Please note special cancellation terms:
• Applicant cancels on or before 25th May 2018 – no cancellation fee
• Applicant cancels between 26th May and before 14th June 2018 - 50% of fee
• Applicant cancels on or after 14th June 2018 (ie 5 working days before the start of the conference) – 100% of fee
• All cancellations must be made using the 'Cancel booking' function on TPD Online.
• Cases of non-attendance due to illness, bereavement, special leave, school Ofsted inspection (section 8 and/or 5) will be considered when confirmation of the reason has been sent by the manager or TPD Lead.
Who is this event for? School Business Managers and Bursars from all phases and types of school including maintained; non-maintained; academies; independent. In-borough and out-borough. 
Relevance to national/professional standards The programme has been designed to relate to the Institute of School Business Leadership (ISBL) Professional Standards (formerly the National Association of School Business Managers), particularly in relation to the values & ethics; and behaviour strands.
