School Business Managers and Leaders - Residential Conference 2020

Event/course summary This conference is part of Wandsworth's CPD programme for School Business Managers (SBM) and Leaders and staff with a business support role. We are currently finalising the programme which will include high quality speakers and facilitators; time to reflect and network; and explore practical tools and strategies to take back to school.

It will cover key issues facing school leaders in 2020 including the theme of well-being and its impact on motivation, performance and retention. 
 
We are working in an informal partnership with Merton and Merton schools will be eligible for a discounted rate.

Early-bird discounted rates are available until 14th February 2020.  Conference fees to be confirmed.

Aims To provide participants with opportunities to:


  • reflect on their complex and diverse roles

  • reflect on their well-being and that of others

  • consider how they can develop their practice and that of their teams

  • increase their understanding of effective practice and the key behaviours that will help them in the school business leadership and management roles

  • provide practical tools & strategies to use back in school

  • share good practice & network

 
Learning outcomes - skills and knowledge Learning outcomes will include:


  • increased confidence and understanding of the school business management and leadership roles

  • increased understanding of key behaviours required to be effective in the school business leadership profession

  • increased capacity to overcome challenges and create new and effective solutions

  • increased ability to respond to change

  • knowledge of practical tools & strategies to take back to school

Intended impact on practice A more confident school business leadership workforce which supports school development and improvement.

Please note special cancellation terms  apply. Details as follows:


  • Applicant cancels on or before 14th February 2019 – no cancellation fee

  • Applicant cancels on or after 15th February and before 2nd March 2020 - 25% of fee

  • Applicant cancels on or after 2nd March and before 23rd March 2020 – 50% of fee

  • Applicant cancels on or after 23rd March and before 4th April 2020 - 90% of fee

  • Applicant cancels on or after 4th April 2020 – 100% of fee


All cancellations must be made using the 'Cancel booking' function on TPD Online.

Cases of non-attendance due to illness, bereavement, special leave, school Ofsted inspection (section 8 and/or 5) will be considered when confirmation of the reason has been sent by the manager or TPD Lead.  Cancellation fees may apply.

School Business Managers; School Business Leaders; Bursars from all phases and types of school including maintained; non-maintained; academies; independent. In-borough and out-borough.  Colleagues who have a school business support function such as HR, finance, administration are also welcome to attend.
